Soft, lightweight cotton summery dresses and kaftans are one of the reasons I love holidays. It’s a bit of escapism from your everyday life and I love a relaxed, easy holiday style so much. I’ve been a fan of Dilli Grey for a while now. They are my go to brand for great, ethically made holiday pieces for me and my family. I love the light and airy fabrics, boho laid back vibe and pretty details that always capture the spirit of India and travelling. It's nice to know they have been made in a thoughtful, ethical slow fashion way, championing artisans and traditional methods of manufacturing. The dresses and kaftans are perfect for high summer and never take up too much room in your suitcase, as I always end up taking too many clothes!
Here are my top picks as worn on my Antiguan holiday a couple of months ago…
This dress really captures the spirit of Dilli Grey and India! It is so stunning and easy to wear - you can tie it up tight at the back or have it loose to wear as more of a kaftan style. I like to wear it with tan sandals (these sandals are handmade by Iris Sandals), layered necklaces and a clutch bag. I would also wear over skinny jeans on a cooler day.
Tie Dye Dress - Coming soon to Dilli Grey
Vickie leant me this sample to take away and try and I love it! Love it or hate it tie dye is back in a big way and a holiday is the perfect setting to rock it. This bright fuchsia pink looks great with sun kissed skin and fun accessories like these heart M&S sunglasses, Iris Sandal Pom Pom sandals and bracelets.
This hand printed holi cow print is so fun! It’s based on a vintage sari print that Vickie found and has been transformed into east meets west in this summery blue and white colour way. The neon pop of colour on the trim really takes this into a playful holiday piece for everyone to enjoy. A holiday must have that makes the perfect beach cover up. Team with sunnies, sand and that all important straw hat. The perfect excuse for beach twinning.
This is the perfect LWD (little white dress) for holiday - double layered so you don't have a visible pant line and works well chucked on over swimwear and flip flops or dressed up with heels and a clutch for dinner out. It's so comfy and works on all body shapes, the hand embroidery is stunning and gives it that extra special boho charm. Here I have styled it with some handmade leather sandals and bracelets from Iris Sandals and an (old) basket bag.
